is anyone farmiliar with molybdenum as a motorcross oil additive?

i see in my manual for a crf250 that i can use this oil on the engine side but not the tranny. i see on the internet its molybdenum sulphide which supposedly reducing friction on moving parts. i take it the concern is with slipping gears in the tranny then. and would this be a good choice for my engine oil
