Why is there over 200% DV of Molybdenum in my multivitamins?

More of it (compared to the reccommended daily value) than anything else in the pills. Why so much? What good is it?

When the FDA sets the Recommended Daily Value, it is always the most conservative amount.
In other words, the RDV is going to be the minimum required to avoid accute deficiency… it does not mean it is the optimal amount. That is why going (reasonably) over the RDV is not a problem.
As for why the company chose to put in more Molybdenum than anything else, who knows? Maybe this trace element is usually low in people’s diets, so they put in more if people are less likely to get it in their diet?

They put more than the MDR because your body is only capable of absorbing half of it. Half of it is excreted without being metabolized.

The efficiency of absorption of nutritional supplement forms of molybdenum ranges from 88% to 93%, and the efficiency of absorption of molybdenum from foods ranges from about 57% to 88%.
Remember the RDA is only the minimum requirement and the total amount at 200% is still small - only 150 MICROgrams.
Molybdenum deficiencies are so rare that you wonder why it’s there at all.
