From what are you trying to extract it? Copper concentrate? Moly dioxide? I’m no chem whiz, so I could use more info.

First, roast the molybdenum sulphide ore to make molybdenum oxide (this needs a permit because it releases SO2).
Second, smelt the molybdenum oxide with charcoal to get molybdenum metal. You need a hot furnace because Moly has a high melting point.
